In an exclusive interview with France Football, Cristiano Ronaldo, who won Monday his fourth Ballon d’Or, claims his innocence after the revelations of Football Leaks.
At the center of the first revelations of Football Leaks, Cristiano Ronaldo, who concealed € 150m in tax havens over the past seven years, reacted in an exclusive interview to France Football. “I have done the right thing,” said the Portuguese. “There are many innocent people in prison. And I feel like that. ”
Crowned Ballon d’Or-France Football, this Monday, for the fourth time in his career, the Real Madrid striker acknowledges that this case has “a little spoiled his joy! It would be a lie to say no. (…) I do not always say what I think because sometimes it harms me, but of course it did not do me any good. ”
“I have no reason to lie”
“All this bothers me, because I try to do things well, to be transparent,” Ronaldo said. (…) “What came out disturbs me. Because it’s not true. The lie is disturbing. “
“When you talk about my privacy, my friends, where I went on vacation, whether or not I have a fiancee, that’s normal. But when it comes to something serious like this, which has to do with justice…” regrets the thirty-one-year-old.
In the aftermath of these revelations, the Spanish tax authorities announced that it was going to carry out “inspections (…) opportune“, Ronaldo concludes: “The truth always ends up bursting. Sooner or later ! ”
